Internship at Coal Coast Magazine

Interested in work experience on a local magazine? Coal Coast Magazine is on the hunt for an intern - someone who is passionate, confident in liaising with the community, shows initiative, efficient, willing to learn, and enthusiastic no matter the task!

Tasks will include: website/social media updates, content research, phone calls assisting the sales manager, sourcing events/stories across the Illawarra, assisting at photoshoots and during interviews, writing for print, web and marketing info, magazine deliveries.
What you get in return: valuable and practical skills that will look impressive on your resume; knowledge and first-hand experience working in print and digital media; being part of a small passionate team who are eager to help; the potential for increased responsibilities within the magazine if you excel in the role.
If this sounds like you, we'd love to hear from you.

Applicants must be available to start ASAP and be able to commit to 1-2 days a week (we are flexible with hours) for a 2 month contract. You must be based in the Illawarra, hold a valid driver's license and have access to own transport, computer and phone. Experience working with Adobe InDesign and digital platforms are an advantage, but not essential. We're happy to teach the right candidate!

To apply: email us your resume, a letter explaining why you would like to work as an intern at Coal Coast Magazine, and an example of an article you have written (published or unpublished).
The letter should be no more than 500 words long, it should include some background on who you are, what your career aspirations are and the areas of the business in which you are most interested.
