An intimate trio program presented by Ensemble Offspring at The Music Lounge, Wollongong Town Hall on August 16 brings together an array of original chamber works by Australian composers.

On flute, clarinet and percussion, with sounds both familiar and intriguing – butcherbirds, blackbirds, ants and frogs – the audience will be taken on a musical journey out of their everyday lives. All the works were written especially for the artists of Ensemble Offspring in close collaboration with the composers. Their common theme is birdsong and the weird and wonderful squeaks, croaks and creaks of the Australian bush.
