Kiama will play host to a winter wonderland to ignite the senses, taking place on the Kiama harbour foreshore on Saturday June 19.

Ignite your senses, imagination and tastebuds as Kiama’s winter festival brings fire, rhythm and feasting with fire shows, cultural demonstrations, live music, hands-on workshops, circus performances and delicious eats, before an impressive Kiama Leagues Club fireworks display at 7.30pm lights up the night sky.

The festival is a free event where you can rug up and chill out, enjoying a full afternoon of entertainment for the whole family on the beautiful Kiama foreshore.

For something extra special, bring your friends together and book the VIP long table dining experience, where you will not only relish in a beautiful paddock-to-plate style, four-course sit-down menu by renowned chef Brendan Cato, but also enjoy the best seats in the house with exclusive entertainment and fireworks viewing.

The free entertainment will be spread across Old School Flat, in three main areas: On the Green, The Main Stage and Eat Street. Exclusive areas (The Workshop and The Long Table Dinner) will also be available via ticket purchase.

On the Green

Opening with a smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country conducted by local elder, Aunty Joyce Donovan, culture and connection form the cornerstones of this event. The Sydney 2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony performers Doonooch Dance Company will perform, whilst dynamic rhythm shows and jungle drums by Junkyard Beats will heighten your senses and get you toe-tapping.

Enjoy pop-up performances by virtuosic gypsy world music fusion band Lolo Lovina (‘Red Beer’) as they bring an intoxicating brew infused with unza, swing and Balkan gypsy beats from their very own caravan.

The Main Stage

Kiama’s very own Kiki Bittovabitch will emcee the event, while the BIG4 Easts Beach aerial performances and circus fun will enthral you. Stick around for after-dark fun with the Kiama Holiday Parks Fire & Glow Show.

Book your spot at The Workshop for rhythmic drumming and ceramic tea light workshops, or donate your face as a canvas for some neon art or hair braiding.

The Lost Fire Bender

Head to the HQ tent and test your skills with the ultimate breakout puzzle by following the steps of the lost fire-bender monk, deciphering clues across the event that incorporate the elements air, water, fire, earth… and dragons to unlock the hidden temple. A game developed by Izabella Venter from Terra Gallery and executed to highest degree.
